The principal and Managing Director of the firm
Mr. Kamgaing is a banker by training. He joined Bankers Trust in 1986. He advised the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on its US downstream plans, the African Development Bank on setting up a new trading room in Abidjan and investors in the largest debt to equity transaction in Nigeria in 1990.
Over time, he arranged loans in excess of $800 mm from Zimbabwe (aircraft acquisition financing) to Tunisia (private placements) and Ghana (syndicated loans). As head of West Africa in 1991, he arranged Ghana's first euroloan, a $75 mm structured facility for GNPC and a $150 mm syndication for the Ghana Cocoa Board, which received the Euromoney Deal of the Year Award for Africa in 1994. He also led the bank's team on the short list for the Ashanti Goldfields IPO in 1994.

Sydmor has a network of specialist consultants notably in business strategy, asset valuation and commodities risk management, for input on specific transactions as and when required.

Mr Kamgaing graduated from HEC Paris (1983) and Sloan School of Management at MIT (MSc. Honours, 1986). He is fluent in both French and English.
